Congregation of AIC Milimani
To the average Kenyan who grew up in the 1980s’ or 1990’s, almost every Sunday evening the then only national broadcaster would either begin with a bulletin of former President Moi attending a Church Service at AIC Milimani or in Kabarak. Although associated with the who is who in the days gone by that attended Church services there, AIC Milimani is not an imposing structure that speaks of wealth. It is a simple place of worship just like many big Cathedrals in the country. It is here that TWR Kenya was priviledged to be part of its Sunday worship on Sunday 28 July 2019.

This was not our first visit to Africa Inland Church, Milimani. No, it was the third time! And on this day too, in attendance was the presiding Bishop of the AIC in Kenya, Bishop Silas Yego who spoke powerfully about selfless giving to God’s service. Unknown to us, it was also the day that the Bishop unveiled the new senior pastor of AIC Milimani, the Rev. Mairuri.
AIC Milimani is a Church that cherishes missions among the less priviledged, and those with difficulties accessing the Bible. Early this year, they had requested for our support and company as they went on a Church planting mission in Pokot. They wanted Bibles and Christian literature. Unfortunately, we could not provide any of these. On their way back from the mission field the youth Pastor, Luke Awino and his team were involved in a near fatal road accident near Naivasha. After months of medical monitoring, Pastor Luke and his team are now back serving the congregation they love so much.

It was to this end that TWR Kenya, on Sunday 28 July, got an opportunity to donate 10 Bibles towards the new Church in Chepturu, Pokot. These are Bibles translated into Pokot language so that the locals there can also read the Bible in a language they are familiar with.
At the end of the service, members of the congregation pledged to support the ministry of TWR Kenya on a monthly basis.
