On Saturday 22nd all roads led to St Stephen's Anglican Church of Kenya's church hall for the highly anticipated pastors training with U.K based Pastor Sam Gordon of Truth For Today Ministry.
The successful fulfilment of the maiden training organized by Trans World Radio Kenya's Sifa FM Marsabit & Marsabit Pastors fellowship hanged in the balance when three weeks ago ethnic violence broke out in Shurr Village on the outskirts of the town. We thank God for the quick measures by the Government, political and religious leaders that restored peace in the area.
Pastor Sam Gordon shared a bible exposition on the book of 2nd Corinthians Chapter 4, where Apostle Paul’s reminds us that despite the challenges we face in ministry to a point of almost giving we should never loose heart because we have a ministry gifted to us by God. It’s not about us but about God who needs to take all the credits as we happily remain in the shadow.
“Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.’ He said it in verse 1 and he repeated it in verse 16 he knows we don’t always get the message first time around, some of us are a bit slow on the uptake, we’re a bit thick, so he said it a second time ‘we do not lose heart.” shared Pastor Gordon
Other than the Bible exposition, Enos Changulo the head of TWR Kenya’s Resource Mobilization & Partnerships also took the pastors through a financial empowerment. This was an eye opener to most of them because Marsabit is one of the areas listed as a hardship area in Kenya.
At the end of the day there was a unanimous plea from the Pastors to the ministry to organize more of such trainings as its of great benefit to the ministry leaders and pastors. “We need more trainings like the one we have had today, in fact we can have it for more than a day. I can assure you that the impact you have had on us today is beyond measure. Here we are very limited in pastoral resources and trainings. Those present here today have asked me to request SIFA FM & Trans World to continue the good work of organizing such meetings.” Said Pastor William Wako the chair of Marsabit Pastors Fellowship
On behalf Trans World Radio Kenya's Executive Director Bernice Gatere we would like to say thank you Pastor William and his entire team from the Marsabit Pastors fellowship for mobilizing over 55 Pastors who braced the morning rain and made their way to the training. Special thanks to 101.1 SIFA FM Marsabit team led by Mike Kwoba, our facilitators Pastor Sam Gordon and Enos Changulo.
Just as Pastor Sam puts it “Therefore at the end of the day, when the credits roll for your ministry, let Jesus take all the credit! Be happy to remain in the shadows, and let the Lord bask in the sunlight of his glory.
