THE JOURNEY: CONTENTMENT

As we live life, we want to have a feeling that there’s much awaiting us. At times it’s a genuine feeling to have; it allows us to stretch forth to achieve greatness within us. Some of the things that we have been ordained to fulfil through God. That’s the only time that we end up having Peace and Joy and Finding contentment. There time’s we are basically not content because we want so much in life that is led by our ownselfish desire.

This selfishness makes us want things that we may not necessarily need but because we want the said things, we go-ahead to do whatever it takes to achieve at the cost of our well-being.  At the cost of the will of God taking place in our lives.

What does contentment mean to you? Is it that car?  thathouse?  that job? that relationship? while growing up and even now as I write; I would feel that there’s something betterout there. That feeling hasn’t stopped even as I write this but the assuranceof the something better is not on what I do for myself but the assurance I havefound in GOD. Paul talks about contentment in

Philippians 4:11-12

now that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. I know how to beabased and I know how to abound, everywhere and in all things, I have learnednot to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

My question today is; can we find contentment in God?

He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. The reason nothing is satisfying us any longer is we want a lot of things and wedo a lot of things because deep down in our hearts we are missing contentmentin God. We are busy seeking from within us and outside us. From family, friends, career to money and many other idols we have, yet all of that never satisfies us. God is the one whoholds our contentment. It’s in God that we find the fulfilment andContentment.
