THE JOURNEY: FEAR

One of the things that I fear is failure. I tell you it’s one of the things I work so hard to avoid but the truth of the matter is that I have horribly failed in so many areas of my life

Fear can actually cripple you from living your best life especially because we don’t know much about tomorrow.

This past week someone shared how they have been struggling and through their sharing I really got ministered too.

Growing up we usually paint a picture of how we would want our lives to play out but sometimes things happen the opposite way of how we had planned. The fear of what we want verses where we truly are can lead to a panic.

If there goals you have set in place to do by a certain age and they end up not happening, then what happens?

Shall we stop living? Do we pick ourselves up? What if everyone around you seems to have their life figured out and yet you currently feel stuck?

Such thoughts that can run through your mid can truly invite fear into your life.

In such times, I am encouraged with how God choose to address Joshua. When the time for Joshua came to take over from Moses, God chose to speak to him and tell him not to be afraid but to be Courageousness.

God constantly says be strong and of good courage. Read Joshua 1.

Life requires us to be strong and courageous…fear on the other hand may not bring out this quality in us.

When you read the book of 2nd Timothy chapter 1 Paul addresses Timothy to get ready for the task ahead as he has already been ordained for ministry. Verse 7 of this chapter Paul is very specific on the subject of fear.

‘but God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.’

I have heard and equally read the portion of scripture before; but this time it really made my Spirit leap.

That God for sure hasn’t given us a Spirit of fear. Christ says he has Given to us a helper and that is the Holy Spirit.

My prayer is that we may be strong and courageous and by the Holy spirit learn to walk in power, love and Sound mind. That fear will not cripple us to the extent that we are unable to fulfil God’s plan for our lives.

Be Strong and Courageous and don’t Fear.
