Women of Hope Kenya team occasionally take time to visit the TWR Women of Hope prayer groups all over the country. In June 6th 2018 the team decided to visit one of the prayer groups this time in Kawangware, one of the large informal settlement population area in Nairobi city.

The long rains season was still going on at the time hence accessing the church was a slight challenge, the car had to drop us about 500metres away becuase there was no road past that point and even if the driver would have improvised, the ground was too wet and muddy to manoeuvre.

Consequently, we walked the distance to the church. Upon arrival, we found a couple of women and their pastor deep in prayer under a drizzling heaven. Half of the church was not roofed.

We learnt from the women that their church was destroyed and pulled down by the rains and the mabati(Roof Sheets) that remained walled the structure was recently put. The floor was not plastered hence it was wet and muddy. Regardless of the physical state of the church, the members still used it and that is where we held our prayer meeting for the day.

Out of compassion, one of the women from the TWR-Kenya Women of Hope Group suggested that we come together and contribute whatever we could afford to buy Mabati's ( roof sheets) for the church to encourage and build hope in the women even as they trust God for further provision.

7 of the women of Hope Ladies including our TWR-K Director Bernice gave a collective of Kshs 11,000/= (110$). On 23rd July 2018, a smaller group of women went to the church to pray with the women and give them the gift on behalf of the whole team.

It was such a joy to see the women still giving themselves in worship. We hope that the contribution inspired and gives hope to our sisters. Truly the visit was such a humbling experience and event and indeed it was worth the sacrifice.

Join us in prayer for the church and the women who meet every Wednesday that God will indeed meet with them and answer their prayers and provide all their needs according to his riches in heaven.
